On Saturday a little while ago we had a school Gala Day!
It was lots of fun we had lots of entertaining games and performances the performances were on the cultural dances we were working on over term 4 we had quick fire raffels they were the most annoying activity ever every time I got one it landed right next to it Arrrrrh! My favourite Cultural dance was my one that I was in Kapa Haka my favourite part about was our Haka we had to do it as loud as I can!

Tote Bags (Gala Day)

Our inquiry is on of the best we have had in a while, we are making tote bags. We are doing this for the earth and sustainability. Room Hauraki is making tote bags Room Waitamata is making soap and Room Manukau is making recycled paper. I am learning that the earth is beautiful and what we do to it it does something back, good or bad. And also this it is good to know how to sew in the first place. The steps to making the bag is you get two squares of fabric same size and also the size you want your bag to be. If you do a design on your bag do it before you connect both of the squares together. before you sew it you pin it so it stays where you want it. If you do have a design put on the inside of the bag so later you can turn it out and it will be there on the outside. after that before you turn the inside out you put the straps on and pin that drop the foot on the sewing machine the go in a square but each side you go over it three times. on each side, six centermeters from the edge. The hardest part wasn't the whole this it was trying to find your right taste of materials. the sewing took a while to get used to but once you get it you zoom through it but you need to remember to keep a straight line. Now I found this task very very fun. After all of this your're done and hopefully have a Tote Bag!

Why are we making Tote Bags?

Because it's for our earth plastic bags are killing and taking over our earth so we better all get on board quick and fix it!!!!

If you care you will under stand, It's all the same with straws it isn't biodegradable. What that means is that it doesn't break down it kind of will but get smaller and smaller and beat anything in it's way. See what I mean? You need to care so stop sitting there and stand up this is our earth we are alive and plastic isn't.

Reading Book Review Cool Nukes.

 Over term 4 we have been doing our book review we had 2 choices Sunken forest and Cool Nukes, I did mine on Cool nukes By Des Hunt a New Zealand writer with amazing addictive books. Last year when I did an Des Hunt book I did The Tooth I also did a book review on that somewhere on my blog. I would recommend reading his books 10 out of 10. Some of his story's have a real hit on you like you are the main character and you kind of feel his emotions. The professor has gone missing the gang DEATH WOLVES are working for Dr Abbott the boss of the university Who fired the professor in the first place. Boom! the Lab of professor Walters goes up in flames what will happen to professor Walter Mayhew The books about a kid called Max and Jensen also Cleo that have to make a cold fusion machine but what will happen on the way to victory?
This activity was super super fun it took two weeks for me mostly because of the reading of the actual

Maths Trip around New Zealand!

So at the start of term 4 the Te Waka Ako cluster did a maths slideshow about a trip around New Zealand on a Budget. We had to do 39 slides it was easy and hard but the hardest part was the boats because on the page I didn't really understand it but then I saw the side and bam I finished the slide. The Petrol math was the second hardest because you had to understand google maps.

Ki Ora blogging world we have been doing Te Reo lately and for Te Reo we have been doing symbols. We could do it on whatever we want I did mine on google sites, It is a good place to do your work on but it takes a while to understand it but then once you understand it it is awesome. Magical World of Crazy Science...

Today on Monday morning, we went into our school hall for Crazy Fun about Science by Richard and Robyn.  It was awesome my favourite part was when he put a hairdryer vertical pointing upwards and put a ping pong ball above it and the air was compressed so that meant it floated. Also he told us about nappies and inside them there is a powder that turns a liquid into a jelly solid he turned a yellow dyed water into a jelly solid. After that he asked us what fire needs we answered: Oxygen, Spark, Fuel (Wood, Gas) Then he put chemical with fire then became a fire dragon and the fire shot out and made a stream of fire, The chemical was grain with made chemical reaction. the other part was the Leaf Blower and put a light pool ball on top and it hover above in the air and it followed the stream of air when he moved it like it was on a piece of string but was only air.  But his first thing he showed us was the rocket it was Awesome! It was a bunch of chemicals and Physics put together then Bang! It popped up in the air and Hit the roof with a bang! I wonder how he made the wooden Figure at the start float without anything?

When we went to camp the day we went I was so exited but this poem does not tell you that because it's not about me it's about how fussy kids  don't like everything and anything apart from beds. when we were on the bus I did not know anything apart from one thing to complain about the length of the drive it was horrid, But the Breaks helped a lot especially the Hamilton Gardens they were special!

Camp!!!!!

Hello blogging world!
This is my Slideshow about camp we went to a camp at Mt Ruapehu to go Skiing and Snowboarding,
I was in the Green group with Janna and Roque. The bus drive was so long it felt like I almost got older by a year! The first stop was the Hamilton Gardens we had lunch and did challenges it was amazing and they have about 1 million visitors a year amazing right! The next stop was Otorahonga  We had more Lunch then went to the exhibit around the corner it was also amazing I loved the milk one most. Then the next stop was The Park the park is the Hotel we stayed in the first night we had lasagna Yummmmm! then Pudding it was Brownie. Then straight to bed to eat Lollies! Overall I loved it. We went skiing for two days and did a night walk the first night. Then the saddest part was the drive back I still miss it so so sad...

Student Toolkits!

Hello Guys!
Today I went to the Ako Hiko student toolkits, It was the best we took a whole day off School, WE got to pick different sections from different schools that would present, for example: Wesley Primary Kahoot, But this is just an example. The ones I attended was Stop Motion Animation and Gamefroot. Gamefroot is a coding and animation game and it is so hard to start with. We did it a New Windsor Primary, It was so much fun, The lunch Time bells went 4 times just by mistake which was confusing. But lunch time was fun we ran so much we were playing tag around the park I got in once but for ages like 2 mins it was so hard to find everyone. In the end I got Bilal Lucky Me!! I have Learnt how to use Gamefroot a little bit I will need to practice a little bit more. Although I have used the Stop Motion before so that was just fun because I knew how to use it and no struggle! This what Gamefroot Looks like...

Hazards! (Mountains)

This is my describe map on mountain hazards, The very middle square is the topic, The next square is the relevant info, So it's all of the things that are relevant to mountain hazards, And the outer square is not relevant so it's basically random. The reason we are doing this work is because we are going to Mount Ruapehu for the school camp I am going skiing. Also I am going to be presenting this to my class in someway.

Wonder Map?

This is my new blogpost and it is about my wonder map, If you don't know what a wonder map is, it is a google drawing where you put things that you know, Want to know and maybe someone will tell you what it is on it. Which is what you are hoping, My one is about Tote Bags because we are making Tote Bags at the school Gala day While doing the making I found the sewing so much fun the hardest part was the design on the front I think. I think I know quite a lot of facts about a tote bag but I still need more knowledge.

Tent Making!!!

Hello Blogging world!
During our school book week, In Te Waka ako We made tents out of toothpicks and moulding clay it looked awesome but once we started ... damn! It was hard it got harder the problems were, The tooth picks started to fall as we put them into the clay and the clay started to get holes in them which got fiddly at the end , My fingers had cramp, The one thing I thought I needed was more clay, Some of the other problems was that when I put a toothpick in one side the other side would come out of the clay Arrrh! It was annoying, My structure was a square and a triangle on top but the triangles was one of the hardest problems because it collapsed inwards I think I should have put clay at the top, As I say I didn't have enough for all of the triangles.
The joy of this all was smashing it...

Te Waka Ako ( New classes)

Anzac Day 2017 ( at the zoo )

This is a story that I did on they day we will remember! (Anzac Day)

Beep! One Tuesday morning I woke up from my beeping alarm at 8:27 and slowly open my eyes to see it’s the holidays The I go into the kitchen and see my Cousin on the couch with my Auntie and Uncle and two Cousins I guessed that Mum and Dad was still asleep in bed ether awake or asleep they said that they might go to the zoo to have a look at the animals for Arlo my little Cousin. “How long will it take.” asked Kahu about 10 minutes by car “OK” said Kahu.

When we got there in about 14 minutes we went straight into the action by speed walking to the zoo we went quite slow because my 3 year old Cousin Arlo. Kahu and Me kind of ran up to this shiny black car it made us look so stubby it was funny it took them a while to catch up. When we made it to the front door we were looking at the pictures of the other people who didn’t buy their photos some of them were interesting the rest weren't. Next we went to the giraffes they were quite boring we saw the tortoise off in the distance over there looked like baby ones so we went over but first bumped into a meerkat, They were cool one of the was actually sitting down with it’s back on the tree stump. When we went passed all of the animals like Elephants, Turtles,  Zebras, Rino’s finally we got to the cafe shop there were hot chips smoothies milkshake and much more I walked in the line with Ice cream. Of in the distance I saw Kahu and Arlo watching the Elephant.”Tap! “Tap! I swung around and then I froze it was my coach Jo but his real name is Joseph Dawkins “Hi” I said he replied the same he asked me a few questions and left I got my ice cream and rushed of to Kahu and Arlo. Next we went over to the Lions “Wow” they were cool I loved them but only one moved I loved there shiny fur and strong legs. Then after a while we went over to the servals we saw heaps of rats in all the cages. When we went through all the birds like Kea, Tui’s and more after the Birds were the Monkey they were awesome they were my favourite after awhile we decided to leave when we walked out of the door one of the zookeeper gave us our photos we turned them down like many other parents.

When we were on our way home Arlo feel asleep as I read him a book called upside down rabbits he slept very easily on the way home. When we got home me and Kahu went down stairs and watched a movie.

Dear diary!

Hello blogging world!
Today we have been doing senses and we used them while at war in my work today this is my war diary hope you enjoy!!

    WALT describe using our senses

	I can see the bullet shells dropping on in the wet diseased mud and old rats the size of cats and I can see black smoke smudged across people's faces, Trench feet rotting everywhere in the trenches.
	I can hear the bullets dropping as well as the shells clinking as it hits the ground hard and the screams of people yelling as they are dying from big thick smoke or guns, When you are in the trenches you can become death and not even alive.
	I can taste the smoke and plum juice and blood as the bitter rain falling on my tongue there are shells exploding left right and centre as my teeth chatter in the sluky trenches.
	I can smell the smoke from the trenches and the gas through in by the Germans as I am ducking over and under everything that comes flying at me although I hear screams they seem to fade away into my imagination and the bitter air I can smell the most.
	I can feel the mud the sluk and much more as the blood is mixed onto my hands in this weather I don't think no one can survive this horrid war the feeling I just can’t take it any more.
	My heart is beating as I am crying not to die I can feel my heart beating through my chest and past my ribs tears drop down my face but the smell overtakes the crying and then the beating of my heart does. It is all madness my heart is saying through the flesh and blood of humans.
	I am thinking in my heart I am going to die I’m scared that I haven't had enough training for this war at all in my mind I am dead.

I think I did OK I also think I could have done a little bit more but i'm happy with the concept of the diary. The senses were see, Hear, Taste, Smell, Feel, Feeling, Thinking. Feel free to leave a helpful positive comment.
